Chances are, you found this space in your search for a therapist. You might be juggling multiple roles across different spaces and feeling increasingly tired. You might be feeling stuck in a pattern you cannot seem to logic your way out of. You might have noticed a shift in a version of the person you're becoming. However you are, I'm glad you are here.
I work with adults who come to therapy because something in their relationship got hurt, whether it's with a partner, themselves, or with the life they thought they were building. They are typically the people stuck in situations with no clear satisfactory solution, who can't seem to catch a break without everything seemingly falling apart. They are the people who were once told "Wa, you're very mature for your age", who are now increasingly tired of the labels that define them. They are the people who know the loneliness of not being seen and understood through the weight of what they carry.
I believe that therapy is a space where you can be witnessed and experienced, so that you can find your way back to your innate strengths and capacity to care for yourself and the people around you. Our work together won't always be easy, and (spoiler alert) there is no magic fix. However, it will be respectful, collaborative, and real in the ways you need it to be, whether you're healing from something traumatic, navigating a relationship challenge, or simply needing a space where your struggles aren't met with a "just be happy". That's what I hope this space can hold for you.
However you were when you found this space, I hope you leave with a little more hope in you.
Family, friends, loved ones: the closer they are, the more they tend to hurt
Stress, burnout, confidence, or the purpose around why you do what you do
Navigating identity, family dynamics and acceptance, community, or systemic stressors that don't align with or affirm who you are
Adjusting to life in Singapore, or simply returning home, and grappling with a sense of belonging, identity, and what home means
Exploring and coping with the stressors that accompany the coming of age, identity formation, peer pressure, and academic stress
Plans don't always go accordingly, and adjustments can sometimes alter huge parts of who we are
Whether it's a low-grade vigilance constantly humming at the back of your mind or toxic stress that's burning you out, what might otherwise be a superweapon on good days could also be crippling on your worst.
Feeling "triggered" by everyday events that you used to handle well, feeling stuck in patterns you're trying to change, or simply trying to heal from a relational hurt that happened to you.
Celebrating your basic right to exist as you are while actively navigating the oppressive systems that make living harder.
Our work expands beyond just talking, incorporating body-based and nervous system approaches to address the effects of trauma and other formative experiences in your body.
Our work recognises how your present experiences and interactions are shaped by past relational wounds, and attends to the hurt and stories that have become part of your narrative.
Our work acknowledges and addresses the systemic forces (family, community, society, etc.) that affect your mental health and advocates for ways to create change and healing beyond personal agency.
I believe in an anti-oppressive practice approach to therapy, which acknowledges and addresses the systemic inequities that make private mental health care inaccessible. For my part of increasing financial accessibility to care, I offer a reduced fee rate for a limited number of people I see.
*If cost presents itself as a barrier to seeking care, please raise this to me in your enquiry or during our call and I will be more than happy to collaborate on how we can increase access to care.
